Julia Effertz

Based in Berlin, Julia (she/her) is an award-winning actress, screenwriter, and Germany's first and leading intimacy coordinator, working across Germany and Europe. Julia introduced intimacy coordination to Germany in 2019, and has since worked on many productions for German film and television, including The Privilege (Bavaria Fiction/Netflix), Legal Affairs (UFA Fiction/ARD), Wild Republic (X Filme Creative Pool/Magenta TV), and The Perfumer (Constantin Entertainment/Netflix). As Germany’s pioneer in the field, she frequently speaks at industry panels and teaches workshops at Germany’s leading drama and film schools.

As an intimacy coordinator, Julia initially trained with Intimacy on Set in the UK before training and certifying with Intimacy Professionals Association in 2021. A versatile movement specialist as well as passionate storyteller, Julia infuses her creative work with her extensive background as a trained dancer and experienced martial artist in boxing and Thai kick-boxing). She is a native speaker of English, German, and French and is also fluent in Italian and Spanish.
