CLASS DESCRIPTION

If you've ever experienced fear or doubt about how to handle scenes with sensitive, intimate content involving minors then this class is for you. In this workshop we will dive into learning about the nuances of working with minors and cover topics such as: 

  • What is a minor and what are the implications that come with that

  • SAG-AFTRA rules regarding treatment of minors 

  • The difference between consent and compliance  

  • Best practices for various types of scenes involving minors 

  • Grooming signs

  • Case studies

  • Time for Q&A to get your questions answered about situations involving minors

By the end of this class, you will have a much deeper understanding of the ins and outs of working with minors of a wide age spectrum on scenes ranging from familial intimacy to kissing, and how you can help to create a more respectful and safer environment when working with some of the industry's most vulnerable performers.

RECORDING: A recording of this workshop will be available for one week after the class for anyone who purchases a ticket

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Chantal Cousineau is an IPA-certified intimacy coordinator who has been working in the role since 2020. Prior to becoming an IC, she carved out a successful career as an actor shooting 100+ TV commercials. She has also become a grounded voice within the advocacy community and has helped 1,500+ survivors of sexual harassment, assault, and abuse share their #MeToo experiences since 2017. A longtime member of SAG-AFTRA, Chantal serves on several National union committees to consult on ways the industry can expand its best practices to move towards equal treatment, pay parity, representation, and improving safety standards on sets. Chantal has combined her many years of experience as a performer with her survivor advocacy work to pivot to her career as an intimacy coordinator. Chantal is an expert in working with minors and is passionate about creating safer spaces on set for some of the industry’s most vulnerable performers.
